RCMP investigates suspicious fire and damage

Ingonish Beach RCMP along with fire departments from Ingonish Beach and Ingonish responded to a structure fire on Beach Rd. in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park at 7 a.m. on October 24. The structure was fully engulfed on arrival and is believed to be suspicious in nature.

Throughout the course of the day, investigators learned of other structures that were damaged by fire including the Warren Lake and Black Brook park facilities. No one was injured in theses incidents.

All incidents are believed to be linked and the investigation is ongoing.

Ingonish Beach RCMP and Parks Canada are requesting assistance from the public in identifying anyone who may be involved in these incidents. Contact the Ingonish Beach RCMP at 902-285-2021.
