RCMP investigates serious collision

Kings District RCMP is investigating a serious single motor vehicle collision that occurred this morning.

At approximately 5:15 a.m. RCMP, EHS and the Wolfville Fire Department responded to the collision on Hwy 101 in Wolfville where they located a pick-up truck with extensive damage on the north side of the westbound lanes. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 48-year-old man from Lower Sackville, had to be extracted from the vehicle and was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Highway 101 was closed between exit 10 and 11 for several hours while an RCMP Collision Analyst attended the scene. Traffic was diverted during that time, and the road was re-opened at 4 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
