Members of the New Brunswick RCMP have arrested a 25-year-old man from Sackville,N.B., who was wanted on an arrest warrant in connection with a significant seizure of drugs and firearms in Lake George, N.B.

A warrant for Nicholas (aka Nick) Bain was issued in Fredericton Provincial Court on May 27, 2020, for possession of a prohibited or restricted firearms with ammunition, without a licence or registration.

On August 11, 2020, a search warrant was executed at a home on Main Street in Sackville as part of the investigation. Nicholas Bain was located and arrested without incident. He is scheduled to appear in Fredericton Provincial Court at 1:30 p.m., for a bail hearing.

Members of the New Brunswick RCMP Emergency Response Team, West District Crime Reduction Unit, Southeast District Crime Reduction Unit, Codiac General Investigation Section, Codiac Regional RCMP and Fredericton Police Force assisted during the execution of the search warrant.

On May 20, 2020, with the assistance of the New Brunswick RCMP West District Crime Reduction Unit, a search warrant was executed at a home on Route 635. The search resulted in more than 185 items and illegal substances being seized, including 31 long guns and 22 handguns, among them 24 prohibited and/or restricted weapons. Many of the firearms were loaded. Police also seized more than three kilograms of what is believed to be cocaine, and nearly 5.5 kilograms of what is believed to be crystal methamphetamine, as well as quantities of ammunition and Canadian currency.

The investigation is ongoing.
