Sunday, July 19th, just after midnight, Kings RCMP stopped a vehicle for speeding while on patrol just east of Souris.
The driver of the vehicle, a 20 year-old man from Kings County showed signs of alcohol consumption and was detained to provide a breath sample roadside, which he failed. He was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Souris Detachment where he provided samples of his breath over the legal limit.
He was issued an immediate 90-day driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded at his expense for 30 days. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Georgetown Provincial Court later in the summer.
