On Wednesday, August 5, at approximately 2 a.m., Prince Albert RCMP responded to a report of a break, enter and theft at a residence in the village of Christopher Lake, Saskatchewan. The homeowners reported that three unknown adult males wearing black and white bandanas over their faces forced entry into their home and demanded money and vehicle keys.
An altercation between one of the residents and one of the suspects occurred. One of the suspects and one of the homeowners sustained minor injuries as a result.
The three males left the home and stole two vehicles, a Ford Ranger and a Pontiac G5, from the property. The Pontiac G5 was involved in a rollover and was located on the grid road west of Northside (Township Rd 524) at 10:30 a.m. the following morning with no occupants. The Ford Ranger was located at Little Red River First Nation at 11:15 the following morning. Both of the vehicles are being examined by the Saskatchewan RCMP Forensic Identification Unit.
At 8:50 a.m. Wednesday morning, a second break, enter and theft to a residence was reported in a nearby resort area. Some tools were stolen from the residence. Police believe that the two break and enters are related.
The investigation into these incidents is ongoing.
