Powerview RCMP conducts several searches and recovers drugs

On October 23, 2020, as a result of a traffic stop initiated on the Fort Alexander First Nation, officers from the Powerview Detachment arrested two females and seized a small quantity of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and a substance believed to be blue heroin.

In relation to this traffic stop, a search warrant was prepared and executed at a residence located on Mama Drive on the Fort Alexander First Nation. Once inside, officers located and seized additional crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and drug-related paraphernalia.

Lydia Guimond, 35 years of age, was arrested and remanded into custody on a charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. A 28-year-old male was also arrested on scene and released for a future court date.

The following day, as a result of an ongoing investigation, not related to the previous evening's search, officers executed a search warrant at a residence located on Highway 11 on the Fort Alexander First Nation as well as on a seized vehicle located in Selkirk.

The search of the residence and vehicle yielded an additional 29 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 19 grams of cocaine, over $8000 in cash, illicit pills, a firearm and drug-related paraphernalia.

Officers arrested three individuals as a result of this seizure. Bernard Morrisseau, 55, was remanded into custody on numerous drug- and firearm-related charges. A 52-year-old male and a 32-year-old female were released for a future court date and will each face drug-related charges.
