Pond Inlet resident facing liquor charges

On November 23, 2020 Pond Inlet RCMP were conducting an investigation on an unrelated matter at a residence when the officers came across a distiller and a small amount of home made liquor. A separate investigation was initiated into the discovery of the distiller.

During the course of the investigation which was lead by Pond Inlet RCMP with the assistance of the V Division Federal Serious and Organized Unit. It was determined that the liquor was being produced for sale within the community. A 29-year-old Pond Inlet man is facing multiple charges under the Nunavut Liquor Act. He is scheduled to make his first appearance on March 15, 2021
