Police investigate stabbing

. Police are investigating a recent stabbing that occurred in North Kentville.

On November 1 at approximately 8:40 a.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on North Ave. A preliminary investigation determined that an altercation took place between three individuals who are known to each other.

Michael Ephraium Reade, a 24-year-old man of North Kentville, stabbed a 61-year-old man and attempted to stab a 33-year-old woman before fleeing the home. The victim was transported to hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries. Police located Reade lying in a field near the home in an unknown state of medical distress. He was transported by EHS to hospital.

Reade remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on December 1 to face the following charges:

· Attempt to Commit Murder X 2

· Failure to Comply with Court Order

The investigation is ongoing.
