On the 2nd of March, 2020, Whitehorse Detachment responded to a complaint of a male with a firearm in the Pine Street area of Porter Creek. As a result, police are conducting an investigation and have a man in custody. The public will notice an increased police presence in the area. Yukon RCMP would like to assure that the public is not at risk. More information to come as details become available.
UPDATE: The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) is investigating the discharge of a service weapon related to this incident, any media requests should now be directed to ASIRT at 780-641-9099.
