Police arrest two men for drug and weapon offences

On September 9, the South Shore Integrated Street Crime Unit searched two homes simultaneous in Oakhill and Blockhouse which resulted in the arrest of two men and the seizure of a quantity of cocaine, weapons and cash. This Street Crime Unit includes members of the RCMP and Bridgewater Police Service. They were assisted by the RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS), the Bridgewater Police Service GIS, the Criminal Intelligence Service Nova Scotia and members of Lunenburg District RCMP.

At a home in Oakhill, a 59-year-old Oakhill man was arrested without incident. The man is facing charges of Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy to Traffic in Cocaine and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The man was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on October 14.

At another home in Blockhouse, Arthur Abdul Mosher, 37, of Blockhouse, was arrested without incident and is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Conspiracy to Traffic in Cocaine, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Possession of Prohibited Ammunition. Mosher was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on September 11.
