Several people report illness after consuming cake containing THC

On January 31, an event was held at a school in Eskasoni. Food was served at the event, including a molasses cake which is suspected to have contained THC. Following the event, a number of adults and children sought medical attention after feeling ill. Of the several individuals who went to the hospital, some tested positive for THC.

The RCMP in Eskasoni is investigating the incident. They are asking anyone who became ill, whether they sought medical treatment or not, to contact them at 902-379-2822. Police are following up to determine the source of the THC.
