Parkland RCMP investigate fatal pedestrian collision on Highway 16A

On Oct. 7, 2020, at 4 a.m., Parkland RCMP responded to a call of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Highway 16A located 1 km east of Boundary Road between Stony Plain and Spruce Grove, Alta. Parkland RCMP and emergency medical services attended the scene of the collision.

A pick-up truck heading eastbound on Highway 16A collided with a male who crossed the path of the pick-up truck in the far right lane. Emergency medical services attended and confirmed the 35-year-old male of no fixed address, was deceased on scene.

The 29-year-old male driver of the pick-up truck and 47-year-old passenger, both of Spruce Grove, Alta., were not injured as a result of this collision.

Traffic in the area was affected for multiple hours as the RCMP Collision Analyst attended and examined the collision scene.

Parkland RCMP continue to investigate. The name of the deceased will not be released, and no further updates are anticipated.
