New-Wes-Valley RCMP investigates two-vehicle collision near Indian Bay; one man is deceased

A man from Indian Bay died following a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision that occurred near the community of Indian Bay on June 7, 2020.

Shortly before 7:00 p.m., New-Wes-Valley RCMP received the report of the collision on Route 320, near the community of Indian Bay. Police, fire, and ambulance attended the scene. The car, operated by an elderly man, crossed over into the oncoming lane of the SUV. The driver of the SUV pulled over to the side of the road in an attempt to avoid the collision but was struck head-on by the car. Both drivers, a man and a woman, were injured and were transported to hospital.

The Indian Bay man died during the transport to the hospital.

A RCMP Collision Analyst with RCMP Traffic Services attended the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been engaged and the investigation is continuing.
