Man wanted on Canada-Wide Warrant for second-degree murder arrested

A 20-year-old man from Saint John, N.B. who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder has been arrested.

On July 23, 2020, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of the Woodstock RCMP along with members of the RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and Woodstock Police Force arrested Tyler Gamblin in the Woodstock, N.B. area. Two other people were arrested as part of the investigation.

Tyler Gamblin is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 24, 2020.

On July 8, 2020, at about 6:40 p.m., members of the Hampton RCMP responded to an area along Route 825 in Fairfield, N.B. A 29-year-old man was located badly injured along the roadside, having suffered stab wounds. He was transported to the Saint John Regional Hospital where he later died.

The victim was identified as Nathan Gallant, and his death was determined to have been the result of a homicide.

On July 15, 2020, in Saint John Provincial Court, a charge of second-degree murder was laid against Tyler Gamblin and a Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest.

The investigation is ongoing.
