Man forgets to cover his tracks; arrested for break enter and theft by Bay Roberts RCMP

On January 7, 2020, at approximately 6:15 a.m., Bay Roberts RCMP responded to a commercial alarm at the Knights of Columbus in South River.

Police arrived on scene and confirmed the property had been broken into. Surveillance footage showed a man departing the building with a quantity of alcohol.

Officers observed fresh foot tracks in the snow and followed them back to a residence in South River. A 45-year-old man, matching the surveillance footage, was located at the residence in possession of alcohol.

He was arrested and later released from custody with a number of conditions and is scheduled to attend court on February 19, 2020. His charges include break, enter and theft, breach of a probation and failure to comply with a recognizance.
