Man dies in pedestrian-vehicle collision

On Saturday May 30, 2020, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Route 3, in New Perth.

A 44 year-old man from Charlottetown was pronounced dead at the scene. Road conditions were clear at the time.

Montague Fire Department as well as Island EMS attended the scene and the highway was closed for approximately 3 1/2 hours to allow a Collision Analyst to conduct an investigation.

The matter is still under investigation. The RCMP would like to express their sympathy to the victim's families at this time, and to thank the assisting agencies for their professional and prompt response at the scene.
