Man charged following home invasion

A 34-year-old man from Saint-Louis-de-Kent, N.B., has been charged following a home invasion in Bouctouche, N.B.

On July 2, 2020, shortly after 10:50 p.m., the Richibucto RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at a residence on Saint-Jean-Baptiste Street in Bouctouche. A man had walked into the home armed with several weapons and demanded money from the four occupants. Two of the occupants were assaulted and the suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victims were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

On July 3, with the assistance of the Miramichi Police Force, a man was arrested without incident at a residence on Queen Street in Miramichi in connection with the investigation into the robbery. A search warrant was executed at the residence and two firearms, bear spray and a stolen vehicle were seized.

On July 4 , Mathieu Myers appeared in court by way of a tele-remand and was charged with robbery with a firearm. He was remanded into custody.

On July 7, Myers appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm and being unlawfully in a dwelling house. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to Moncton Provincial Court on July 10, at 9:30 a.m, for a bail hearing.
