Kings District RCMP ask witnesses to come forward

On Friday afternoon, March 13, 2020, Kings District RCMP officers were involved in an investigation on Route 315 in Caledonia area. At approximately 4:30 p.m., officers were attempting to locate a 43 year-old man from Three Rivers area, and when found, his actions became extremely dangerous. The man drove his vehicle, a red 500x Fiat (smaller SUV), directly at two marked police vehicles on two separate occasions. All events happened on Route 315 in Caledonia area. For public and police safety there was no pursuit after the suspect.

On Saturday afternoon, Kings District RCMP officers actioned a search warrant in Three Rivers and apprehended the man. He was brought before a Justice of the Peace in Georgetown and was held in custody. He will appear in Charlottetown Court later today to face multiple charges including Assault with a Weapon and Dangerous Driving.

This was an isolated incident and the public is not at risk.

As part of the investigation, Kings District RCMP officers are asking anyone who witnesses the events on Route 315 to contact Kings District RCMP at 902-838-9300. Specifically, officers would like to speak to occupants of two cars in the area when the accused was aggressively driving at the second RCMP vehicle, an RCMP marked Tahoe.
