Kings District RCMP ask for help in Assault With a Weapon Case

Kings District RCMP are looking to identify witnesses and persons who may have helped a victim of an Assault with a Weapon in New Minas, NS.

Kings District RCMP responded to a call at 3:15 a.m. on July 11. The caller reported a female being dragged into the woods where it is alleged she was assault by a female and three males with a knife.

A female and male have been arrested in relation to this investigation:

· A 21-year-old female from Kentville has been remanded into custody and is facing charges of Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Failing to Comply with a Release Order. She will appear in Kentville Provincial Court on September 1.

· A 17-year-old male youth from Coldbrook was released on an Undertaking and is facing charges of Assault. He will appear in Kentville Provincial Court September 24, 2020.

The victim's physical injuries were found to be minor. Police would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident, or may have witnessed it. The investigation to identify the other two males who were allegedly at the scene is ongoing.
