News release

Saturday, June 20th at 4:45 pm, Kings District RCMP received two separate calls from members of the public advising of an impaired driver seen leaving a business in Morell.

A short time later, Kings District RCMP located the man at a residence in the St. Peters area and arrested him for impaired driving. He was transported to the Souris Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath almost three times the legal limit.

The man was lodged at the Provincial Correctional Centre for the night and is scheduled to appear in Georgetown Provincial Court at a later date. In addition to the Court appearance, he is subject to an automatic 90 day driving prohibition and his vehicle will be impounded for 30 days at his expense.

Kings District RCMP are thankful to the members of the public who took the time to call and encourage anyone to report suspected impaired drivers to police.
