News release

Hopedale RCMP responded to a number of tips from the public of a suspected impaired all-terrain vehicle (ATV) operator on November 17, 2020, and arrested a man for impaired driving.

Following multiple reports of a man who was driving his ATV throughout the town while impaired, Hopedale RCMP located the described man and his ATV. A traffic stop was conducted and the operator, a 30-year-old resident, was found to be impaired by alcohol. He was arrested for impaired driving, was transported back to the detachment and provided breath samples that were more than twice the legal limit. The driver was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date to face charges of impaired driving.

Hopedale RCMP thanks the community for their continuous reporting of suspected impaired drivers. A number of arrests for impaired driving have been made by Hopedale RCMP over the past several months, many of which police directly credit back to those who provided information.
