Hit-and-Run driver arrested with multiple charges, vehicle impounded

At 7:35 a.m. Friday, February 14th, Stratford RCMP received a complaint of collision in which one of the drivers left the scene of the collision without providing his documentation to the other driver. The driver who's vehicle was struck was able to provide the plate of the suspect vehicle to police.

Less than two hours later, just before 9:00 a.m., Kings District RCMP located the travelling vehicle in the Town of Montague. The driver, a 53 year-old man from Montague, was arrested for Driving While Prohibited (from previous Impaired Driving Offences) and Impaired Operation when stopped today.

The man was transported to Montague RCMP Detachment and provided breath samples over twice the legal limit. He is currently being held at the Montague Detachment, pending his release and the vehicle has been impounded for 6 months under the Highway Traffic Act.
