Harbour Grace man charged with impaired after collision at local gas station

A 70-year-old Harbour Grace man is facing a charge of impaired driving after colliding with the barrier surrounding propane tanks at a local gas station in the community on August 8, 2020.

Police officers from Harbour Grace Detachment responded to a report of the collision at approximately 5:00 p.m. The officers located the vehicle and observed an open alcohol container in the cup holder. The driver was taken into custody and breath testing confirmed his blood alcohol concentration was nearly twice the legal limit.

His vehicle was impounded and he will appear in court at a later date to face a charge of impaired driving.
