Halifax District RCMP responds to armed robbery

On September 19 at approximately 6:30 a.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a complaint of an armed robbery at a convenience store on Main Rd. in Eastern Passage.

Upon attending the location, police confirmed that a lone male suspect wearing a dark winter jacket, a black mask, a wine coloured baseball hat and carrying a black bag entered the store armed with a firearm. The suspect then demanded cash and cigarettes from the employee.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately five-foot-eight, medium build and in his mid twenties. The suspect fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. Nobody was injured as a result of this incident.

The investigation by the Halifax District RCMP and the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is continuing.
