Halifax District RCMP fatal collision investigation update

The RCMP has received new information into an investigation that began on July 7, when a 28-year-old man died following a motor vehicle collision on St. Margaret's Bay Rd. in Hubley. The man who was arrested at the scene has been charged with several offences, however police have not charged him with impaired driving. The RCMP is continuing to work towards determining the identity of the driver through investigation. The new information came from witnesses who came forward last evening. Additional charges may be laid as the investigation progresses.

The individual who was arrested, 28-year-old Corey Richard Patrick Blinkhorn from Howie Center, was held in police custody overnight and is currently facing four counts of Breach of Conditions, one count of Theft of Motor Vehicle, and one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He appeared in Halifax Provincial Court today and was held in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
