Green Lake RCMP – Fatal Two Motor Vehicle Collision – Highway 155

On March 8, 2020, at approximately 2:15 p.m., Green Lake RCMP received the report of a two vehicle collision on Highway 155, approximately 45 km north of Green Lake, SK.

It was reported that a vehicle was driving south and attempted to pass a semi-tractor trailer, when it collided with a vehicle driving north.

The 70-year-old female driver of the vehicle driving south was pronounced deceased on scene. The youth passenger was transported to hospital in Meadow Lake and then transported to Saskatoon for what were reported to be serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The 45-year-old male driver and lone occupant of the vehicle driving north was also transported to hospital in Meadow Lake and then transported to Saskatoon for what were reported to be serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time. Roads were covered in snow at the time of the collision and visibility was poor.

RCMP detachments including Green Lake, Meadow Lake and Beauval, Meadow Lake Traffic Services, an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist, Meadow Lake EMS, Beauval Fire and Rescue, and Saskatchewan Coroners Service all attended the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
