On Nov.5, 2020, Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) executed a search warrant and seized drugs and cash, after locating a male who was known to be wanted.
A 27-year-old male of Grande Prairie, was located in a hotel in Clairmont by Grande Prairie RCMP CRU, with assistance from the Police Dog Service (PDS). Following a brief foot chase, the 27-year-old male was arrested for 27 outstanding warrants, which included discharging a firearm with intent. Upon his arrest, police located the following items on him:
- A substantial amount of Canadian currency
- Two shotgun shells
- 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- Three grams of suspected heroin
Further investigation resulted in police obtaining a search warrant for the hotel room, where approximately 100 ml of GHB was located.
The 27-year-old male has been charged with the following:
- Resisting arrest
- Fail to comply with a release order x4
- Breach of a weapons prohibition x2
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of heroin
- Possession of property obtained by crime
He is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Dec. 9, 2020.
