Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP investigates suspected targeted vandalism and damages to heavy equipment

Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP is investigating two recent separate reports of vandalism and damage to heavy equipment in Grand Falls-Windsor that police suspect may have been targeted.

On November 1, 2020, Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP received a report of damage and vandalism to heavy equipment vehicles located at the Waste Disposal Water Treatment Facility worksite on Scott Avenue. Each vehicle was spray painted with the letters "E.L.F" and several wires were cut on one of the trucks.

A second reported incident occurred on November 2, 2020. Police received a report of damage and vandalism to heavy equipment which was parked at the corner of Sutherland Drive and Goodyear Avenue. Both pieces of equipment were spray painted with the letters "E.L.F." and a number of wires were cut on an excavator.

Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP looks to speak with anyone who has information about the significance of, or connection to, this abbreviation.

The investigations are continuing.
