On September 20, 2020, at approximately 6:45 pm, Gimli RCMP responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway 8 at Road 23 E, in the RM of Bifrost. A passer-by noticed the vehicle in the ditch and called emergency services.
RCMP, Riverton Fire Department and emergency services attended. The vehicle was located on its hood, submerged in water.
The driver, a 28-year-old male, and the passenger, a 30-year-old female, both from Morden, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
It is believed that the vehicle was travelling westbound on Highway 8, when it lost control, entered the ditch and rolled.
Both occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
Gimli RCMP along with the RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
