Gander RCMP charges man for drug trafficking following a traffic stop

A 19-year-old Aspen Cove man now faces two charges of possession of a drug for the purpose of trafficking following a traffic stop conducted by Gander RCMP.

On March 26, 2020, at approximately 2:45 a.m., Gander RCMP pulled a car over on Cooper Boulevard in Gander. The driver was found in possession of suspected cocaine. He and the passenger were arrested and police conducted a search of both individuals and the vehicle. A quantity of powdered cocaine, crack cocaine and ecstasy was located, along with other drug paraphernalia and items consistent with drug trafficking.

Both men were transported back to Gander detachment where police continued with the investigation.

The passenger was released without charge. The driver was also released but is set to attend court at a later date to face criminal drug charges.
