Flower’s Cove RCMP charges man with refusing to provide roadside breath sample

A 64-year-old Plum Point man was arrested for refusing to provide a breath sample by Flower's Cove RCMP on June 16, 2020, after a traffic stop conducted on the Main Road in Plum Point.

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, Flower's Cove RCMP stopped a car and suspected the driver was impaired by alcohol. Officers provided the man with a demand for a roadside breath sample. The man, who is currently facing impaired driving charges from an incident in 2018, refused to provide a breath sample and was taken into custody. He was later released and is set to attend court at a later date to answer to a charge of refusing to provide a breath sample.

The driver was ticketed for expired registration and was issued a driver's licence suspension. The vehicle was seized and impounded.
