Fatal collision claims man’s life

At 1:21 p.m. on May 31, a serious collision in North River, Lunenburg was reported via 911. The driver of a car lost control on North River road. The car was heavily damaged and overturned in the ditch.

RCMP, volunteer firefighters, and paramedics arrived on scene. Both the driver and the passenger were ejected from the vehicle. The 31-year-old man was reported deceased at the scene. The 28-year-old woman was airlifted to Halifax via LifeFlight with serious injuries. North River Rd. was closed and traffic was diverted to Hwy. 10.

An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist was called to attend the scene. The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
