Fairview RCMP received reports of at least 26 separate incidents of vandalism that occurred primarily over night between June 5 and 7, 2020, in the community of Fairview.
Fairview RCMP opened 26 separate investigations into these incidents that have continued to be investigated since that time—without any success, until recent tips from the public led to the identification of two suspects.
These 26 incidents of vandalism, primarily in the form of spray painting, involved the following affected properties in Fairview: the Hockey Arena, Fine Arts Building, Elementary School, Fairview Shopping Mall, Boyts Home Hard Store; along with 8 personal residences, and 2 churches. The estimated damages to the properties is valued at over $30,000.
The suspects also targeted 17 personal vehicles, having put cough syrup in a fuel tank, causing over $5,000 in damages. Classic Collision in Fairview donated their services at no cost to remove the graffiti for the victims of the motor vehicles damaged by the vandalism. Fairview RCMP were advised that Classic Collision was able to repair the graffiti on over 10 of the damaged personal vehicles and several of the commercial buildings at no cost to the victims.

Two 17-year-old youths from Fairview are facing 26 counts of Mischief over $5,000 and were released with conditions to attend Fairview Provincial Court on September 9, 2020. Due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names of the youths will not be released.
