Drug search results in drugs, Excise Act and weapon charges

Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) have arrested a 61-year-old man, searched a home, and seized a quantity of illegal drugs and cigarettes.

The SCEU obtained a search warrant for a home on Diamond St. in Trenton, and arrested the man on March 12 in Westville. During the search, police seized crystal methamphetamine, hydromorphone pills, contraband cigarettes, a crossbow and a quantity of cash.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to attend Pictou Provincial Court on June 8. He is facing charges of:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine and hydromorphone),
  • Possession of a Weapon while Prohibited,
  • Possession of Unstamped Tobacco

Pictou County Integrated SCEU was assisted in the investigation by New Glasgow Regional Police Dog Service, Westville Police Service, Stellarton Police Service, Pictou District RCMP and Canadian Intelligence Service of Nova Scotia.
