Driver charged for passing a school bus with red flashing lights activated

On Friday, January 31, 2020, East Prince RCMP received a complaint from the Public Schools Branch that a driver failed to stop for a school bus that had it's flashing red lights and stop sign activated.

An investigation resulted in a driver being charged under the Highway Traffic Act for failing to stop for the school bus.

RCMP remind drivers that the fine for this infraction can be as high as $5000.00 and 12 demerit points which will result in a 3 month suspension of a driver's license.
