Correction: Collision claims life of 52-year-old man

A 52-year-old man has died following a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Hillsdale, N.B., near Hammondvale.

On July 25, 2020, shortly after 1 p.m., members of the Sussex RCMP detachment responded to a report of a collision on Route 111 in Hillsdale between a motorcycle and a pickup truck. The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of the motorcycle travelling westbound lost control of his vehicle and collided into a pickup truck travelling eastbound.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 52-year-old man from Dieppe, was taken to hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. The passenger of the motorcycle, a 49-year-old woman from Dieppe was also transported to hospital with serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were not injured.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting in the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
