On May 5, 2020 shortly after 11:00 pm, Clyde River RCMP responded to a disturbance at a residence in the community. While at the residence, an officer became involved in a use of force situation and discharged their firearm. A 31-year-old man from Clyde River was immediately transported to the Health Centre and was pronounced deceased.
Ottawa Police Service has taken conduct of the incident and is en-route to Clyde River to conduct an independent investigation into the actions of the RCMP. Please refer any further media enquiries to OPS.
