Clarenville RCMP is investigating an armed robbery that occurred on June 26, 2020, at the Corner Stop gas station in Port Blandford.

At approximately 9:20 p.m., police received the report of a woman, wearing a mask and a blue cloth to cover her head, who walked into the store and waited for patrons to leave. She then removed a hammer from a bag she was carrying, walked behind the checkout, approached the cashier and demanded money.

She departed the store with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white 4-door Chevrolet Cruze and was last seen heading west on the Trans-Canada Highway. Police believe there were other occupants within the vehicle.

The investigation is continuing.
