Charges laid after police respond to weapons call

On June 20, members of Cole Harbour RCMP were at a call on Amos Walter Dr. in North Preston when they noticed two men in the area who were about to fight. The police officers de escalated the situation before anyone was assaulted.

One of the men who had been involved argued with another man then went into his home which was nearby. He came back out of his house with one arm behind his back. The police officers at the scene saw that the man had an edged weapon concealed behind his back. Another person at the scene took the weapon from him, and police arrested the man without incident. No one was hurt, despite the large number of people who were in the area.

Sisco Clayton, 68, of North Preston, was held in custody until his court appearance in June 22 where he was released on conditions. He has been charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Causing a Disturbance
  • Breach of Probation (2 counts)

The investigation is ongoing.
