Burin Peninsula RCMP reminds public to never provide PIN numbers

Burin Peninsula RCMP have received a complaint of people being asked for their Personal Identification Number (PIN) when using their debit or credit cards at local shops due to Covid-19 measures. Police remind the public that your PIN number should never be given out, regardless of the reason for the request.

Please consider other methods of contactless purchase like using a glove or a q-tip to push buttons on the debit machine PIN pad or using tap. For more information on public safety during Covid19 please refer to the GovNL webpage https://www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19/
