Burin Peninsula RCMP charges Garnish woman with arson charges in relation to a fire at Senior's Seaside Takeout and Gas Bar on November 20, 2019.

Following a lengthy investigation Burin Peninsula RCMP arrested 41-year-old Natasha Parsons of Garnish for intentionally setting fire to a business back in November of 2019.

On November 20, 2019, shortly before 9:00 a.m., Burin Peninsula RCMP were called to a fire at Senior's Seaside Takeout and Gas Bar in Garnish. When officers arrived on scene the fire had been extinguished by the local fire department. There was an occupied apartment attached to the business and thankfully no one was injured during the fire. Police gathered evidence from the scene and suspected the fire was intentionally set. Surveillance footage, which was sent for processing to the RCMP Digital Forensics Services Unit, led police to the arrest.

Parsons was arrested last night and was held in custody. She attended court today and was released on a number of conditions. She is charged with arson, disregard for human life and arson for a fraudulent purpose.
