Burin Peninsula RCMP arrests man for impaired driving at early morning traffic stop

A 19-year-old Burin man was arrested by Burin Peninsula RCMP on December 21, 2020, for impaired driving at an early morning traffic stop.

At approximately 4:00 a.m., on Monday morning, an officer was on patrol on Route 210 near Marystown and noticed a truck swerving. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, who was suspected to be impaired by alcohol, failed a roadside breath test. He was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were over the legal limit.

The driver was later released and is set to attend court at a later date to face charges of impaired driving. His driver's licence was suspended and his truck was seized and impounded.
