Break and Enter to the Dawson City Humane Society

November 12, 2020
Dawson City, Yukon

News release

The Dawson City RCMP are investigating a Break and Enter to the Dawson City Humane Society that occurred sometime between the night of November 10th, 2020 and the morning of November 11th, 2020. The Dawson City Humane Society was broken into and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen. The Dawson City Humane Society relies heavily on donations, fundraising, and memberships to keep the shelter running so it can provide an invaluable service to Dawson City and neighboring Yukon communities. A theft from a non-profit organization has a significant impact on the organization and hampers their ability to care for animals in need.

The Dawson City RCMP is asking anyone who may have information regarding this or similar occurrences to contact the Dawson City RCMP at 867-993-2677. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by internet at www.tipsubmit.com. You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers, and if you provide information to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest(s), you may be eligible for a cash reward.

The RCMP is Canadas' national police service and the Territorial police service for Yukon. The Dawson City RCMP will continue to work towards our primary goal of safe homes and safe communities for all Yukoners.

Thank-you to all Yukoners for your support and assistance in this matter.
