Boyle RCMP charge two with attempted murder

On Sept. 7, 2020 Boyle RCMP responded to report of a shooting at a residence on the Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement.

Police were advised en route that an adult male victim was taken to hospital with a serious life threatening injury. Police were able to locate the residence where the shooting occurred as significant damages were apparent.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence and police seized firearms, ammunition as well as forensic evidence. Two suspects were arrested and charged with multiple offences regarding the shooting.

A 30-year-old male of Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement was charged with:

  • Attempted murder
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Disguise with intent
  • Unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Theft of motor vehicle

A 30-year-old male of Edmonton was charged with:

  • Attempted murder
  • Unauthorized possession
  • Disguise with intent
  • Breach of a release order

Both the accused were remanded into custody after a judicial hearing and are set to appear in Boyle provincial court via CCTV on Sept. 22, 2020.
