Black Lake RCMP lay charges in homicide investigation

On Sunday Nov. 1, 2020, shortly after 8 a.m., Black Lake RCMP received the report of a male being shot outside of a residence located in Black Lake, SK.

Upon arrival at the residence, police arrested an adult male responsible for the shooting, without incident. Police also located and seized a firearm on scene. Officers secured the scene for further investigation.

EMS transported the 29-year-old male victim to hospital in Stony Rapids, but passed away shortly afterwards from his injuries. Victim Services has been provided to the victim's family and continues to remain engaged to provide support.

43-year-old Jimmy Vince Robillard of Black Lake, SK, has been charged with Second Degree Murder under Sec. 235(1) the Criminal Code for the death of Bruce Dadzene. Robillard was held in custody until his first appearance in Provincial Court in Black Lake on Nov. 3, 2020.

The Saskatchewan Coroner's Service conducted an autopsy on the deceased male on Nov. 2, 2020, in Saskatoon.

The investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit South, Forensic Identification Services from Prince Albert and the Black Lake RCMP Detachment.
