Bay St. George RCMP has issued driving suspensions on two drivers having blood alcohol levels above the provincial limit, following patrols in Gallants and Stephenville.
At approximately 10:40 p.m. on February 7, 2020, officers conducted a traffic stop on a man attempting to get on a snowmobile. The driver, a 19-year-old Corner Brook man, provided a road side breath test which was above the provincial limit for alcohol but below criminal legislation. He was issued a seven-day driving suspension and his snowmobile was seized and impounded.
At approximately 4:00 a.m. on February 9, 2020, while patrolling on Main Street, Stephenville, officers conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 22-year-old Stephenville woman, provided a road side breath test which was above the provincial limit for alcohol but below criminal legislation. She was issued a seven-day driving suspension and her vehicle was impounded.
