A 32-year-old driver owing more than $18,000.00 in outstanding traffic fines is now set to attend court following a traffic stop conducted by Bay Roberts RCMP on July 13, 2020.
On Monday afternoon, an officer with Bay Roberts RCMP was on patrol and recognized a driver of a vehicle as being unlicensed. The officer stopped the car in Spaniards Bay, confirmed that the man was unlicensed and determined that the vehicle was without insurance.
The car was seized and impounded and the driver, who was released from the traffic stop, is set to appear before a Provincial Court Judge at a later date. He will face charges under the Highway Traffic Act for driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
RCMP NL continues to fulfill its mandate to protect public safety, enforce the law and ensure the delivery of priority policing services in Newfoundland and Labrador.
