On March 12, 2020, at 9:30 p.m., Barrhead RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Secondary Highway 651 east of Highway 33.
A car heading westbound on Secondary Highway 651 collided with a car heading eastbound. A 17-year-old male driver and lone occupant of the westbound car, from Barrhead, Alta., was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and two passengers of the eastbound car were taken to hospital via EMS with non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic in the area was affected for multiple hours as the RCMP Collision Analyst attended and examined the collision scene.
Barrhead RCMP continue to investigate. The name of the deceased will not be released, and no further updates are anticipated.
