On Feb. 8, 2020 at approximately 9 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of a male being located with serious life threatening injuries near Township Road 534 and Range Road 225.
The male was taken to hospital and pronounced deceased a short time later. An autopsy was conducted today at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton and the manner of death has been deemed a homicide.
The deceased male has been identified as Blair Joshua Cross (35) of Edmonton. RCMP would like to speak with anyone that may have been in contact with Blair or seen him in the Edmonton area in the days leading up to his death.
Blair is described as:
- Indigenous male
- 140 lbs
- Black hair, brown eyes

Update - Strathcona RCMP Advising the Public of a Traffic Disruption
Strathcona County RCMP would like to inform the motoring public that the intersection of Township Road 534 and Range Road 225 is now open for regular traffic flow. The RCMP would like to thank the public for their patience with this traffic disruption.
A press release regarding the investigation will be done on Monday February 10, 2020, later in the afternoon.

Until further notice, the Strathcona County RCMP are asking the motoring public to avoid the intersection of Township Road 534 and Range Road 225 in Strathcona County. The intersection will be closed and traffic will not be allowed to pass through that intersection. Please use an alternative route. The RCMP will advise when the intersection is open to the motoring public again. The RCMP would like to thank the motoring public for their understanding during the traffic disruption.
