Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit charge male after suspicious death in fire

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit have charged a male in relation to a suspicious death of an adult female who was located after a mobile home fire was reported on Dec. 18, 2019 in Boyle.

A 55 year old male of Regina, Sask. has been charged with second degree murder, arson and indignity to human remains in the death of Melissa Lyne (41) of Boyle.

He was remanded into custody after a judicial hearing and is set to appear in Fort Saskatchewan provincial court on Sept. 17, 2020.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further information is available.

Boyle RCMP investigate suspicious death in fire

On Dec. 18, 2019 at approximately 5:40 a.m., Boyle RCMP along with emergency personnel responded to a mobile home fire in Boyle.

While investigating, human remains were located after the fire was extinguished. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit along with the Boyle RCMP Detachment continue to investigate.
